Tracking the Number of Likes and Shares of Your Post

Ever wonder how many people have actually liked, shared and commented on your post through Facebook? While you may be able to track down the number of likes your post has garnered within your network, don’t you just think it’s interesting to know how many people have shared your post on their networks?

AllFacebook.com Facebook Like Counter

Good news! AllFacebook.com, the Unofficial Facebook Resource has released the Facebook Like Counter which allows you to view a detailed summary of the number of likes, comments and shares for a particular post. Please don’t that it doesn’t show you the number of likes on your page – which you obviously could view on your Page’s platform.

Shares, Comments and Likes = Total Number of Likes

To test the said system, I decided to look up the number of likes for my post for the Aboitiz Power Alter Space Bloggers Contest. Included in the mechanics is to install either of the two Facebook plug-ins: Recommendations or Like. The greater the number of likes, the better. The contest ends tomorrow so would you be so kind to show some support and head over to my entry about how saving the Earth is a game that everyone can play: Alter Space: A Reminder That Saving the Earth Is a Game Everyone Can Play!

What surprised me was the graph which showed me that the total number of likes is actually taken from the total number of likes, shares and comments. The first two aren’t much of a surprise, but comments? Then I remembered the link which Tim Moore of SayItSocial.com about “Epic” Battle – Facebook Takes On Groupon | Say It Social. It’s an interesting article about the new Facebook Deals. It has a total of 45 likes (as of publishing) and it’s interesting to note that the Comments section actually makes up the most of the pie.

So if you’re interested to know the statistics of a specific post, head over to the Facebook Like Count Calculator.
