Creative Ways to Get Yourself Hired
Let’s face it. Getting fired is much easier than getting hired these days. Hence, creativity will help one get noticed and stand out.
Below are just some of the most creative resumes, videos and other campaigns that will help you avoid from becoming too boring.
1. GooglePleaseHire.Me – Video Resume
Matthew Epstein, now commonly known as The Mustache Guy, has created a viral campaign GooglePleaseHire.me wherein a mustache has proven helpful in getting him interviews with various leading tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon and yes, even Google.
Though he may not have gotten the job with Google, he has launched a successful and very inspirational campaign that hopefully will help motivate and spark the creativity in any job seeker. With the countless job interviews that he had, Matthew decided to work for an innovative startup out in San Francisco called SigFig.
2. Visual Resume
There are tons of really bad and boring resumes that hiring managers have to deal with each day. How do you stand out and get to be included in those “Saved” List and move on to the next level of getting the job interview? Jesse Desjardins has identified what makes a resume really ugly and gave an example of a good one.
While creativity will help increase the possibility of getting noticed, it is important you would also provide traditional format of your resume should your hiring manager request it. Challenge creativity today and stop being boring!
