Facebook vs. Twitter News

Last week, both Facebook and Twitter have simultaneously released the news of the latest updates on their features.

Facebook Launched the Subscribe Button for Websites

Facebook launched the Subscribe button for websites after the Timeline has been rolled out to the public. It makes senses to make the said feature available as several public figures and celebrities have already enabled the Subscribe button on their Facebook personal profiles letting them to broadcast to the Public without the need for a mutual connection or adding them as Friends.

As explained by Facebook,

The Subscribe button for websites works just like the button on Facebook; once clicked the user will begin seeing the public posts of the person they have subscribed to in his or her News Feed. The subscribe action is also shared — allowing others to subscribe directly via the News Feed stories, and further increasing viral distribution.

Websites should not rejoice in this new feature as it’s only favorable for public figures and celebrities.

Twitter Launches the New New Twitter #

On the very same day, Twitter rolled out the new, well, Twitter. As announced by Twitter,

It’s now easier and faster to see the information that matters most to you. Immediately access your favorite features from the lefthand side. Photos, videos and conversations are embedded directly in Tweets so you can see the whole story at a glance. And now everything in Home will appear consistently across computers, iPhones, and Android mobile phones.

Home keeps everything you’re interested in all in one place.

In short, Twitter has now become Facebooky.

They are now very slowly rolling it out since new users (sign ups) could get to enjoy the said feature while old users get to stay with the old one. I’d say a great way to reward loyalty, Twitter! [If you get my sarcasm].

If it’s not yet available for you, may get a glimpse of it here.

Of the two announcements, got you excited the most? Which one do you think if most beneficial for you?
