How does Facebook determine which post gets to your News Feed? The answer is simple, it is based on its Facebook EdgeRank Algorithm.

Copypress has released an interesting visualization of how EdgeRank works so without further ado, here’s how Facebook decides whether your content should be visible to more people and how.

What is Facebook EdgeRank

What does EdgeRank Mean for Brands?

New fans are more likely to see page posts than people who have Liked the page for a while so it’s essential to craft engaging content that would encourage interaction from the fans and not just broadcasting or trying to promote whatever your brand is selling. It is essential that the conversations are centered towards the interests and what the fans need.

It’s funny how the saying “People only go to you when they need you” applies in this situation too. Be sure to provide valuable and essential updates, make the fans “need” you and the information that they’re getting from your brand page, so they will keep on liking you in return.

This was an interesting post but I think Facebook does more than it gives out. I have noticed more than once when I post something and then go and start to like, comment, and share others stuff that all of a sudden an explosion of interaction will come to the post I just updated. In other words, you give them what they want(time on site) they give you what you want(interaction)....
